Since 1936, the Yakima Union Gospel Mission has been assisting the homeless and underprivileged in Yakima Valley with food, clothing, shelter, medical/dental needs and other services. Our ministries also include addiction recovery programs for both men and women, an upscale secondhand shop, and a campground. Yet another heart filled ministry is our after-school youth program (including tutoring, supervised play and dinner) for children and youth.
As a faith-based organization, we have operated on donations and gifts. Individual financial and in-kind donations amount to ninety-four percent of our operational resources. We rely upon intangible labor gifts through valuable volunteer hours. Without the support of businesses, churches and dedicated donors, we would not be able to support even the basic ministries of the mission.
